Villa gusto's kitchen is in safe hands with Omeo born John Spencer who has enjoyed a very impressive career since he started his apprenticeship at Florentino's Melbourne, followed by 2.5 years at the Hotel Sofitel.

He then got the travel bug and headed overseas where he did a stint an numerous award winning establishments including sous chef at the Intercontinental Hotel London's Hyde Park corner at the le Soufflé Restaurant.

He is now back in the area where he grew up.

Johns outstanding 5 course degustation menus highlight the wonderful "taste alpine" food produce at $70 per head, five days a week, Wednesday to Sunday.


The villa is the holder of a chef hat in the Age good food guide (2006, 2007 & 2011).


Our breakfasts also use the freshest local produce.
